Sisters and Brothers,

Yesterday was an historic day of national resistance to Trump’s hateful attacks on immigrants, Muslims, communities of color, the environment, and ordinary working people as a whole.

Over one hundred thousand people protested at major airports all across the country, calling for the immediate release of immigrants detained due to Trump’s executive order banning entry of people from several predominantly Muslim countries.

In Seattle, more than 5,000 people joined me, the immigrant and faith community, union members, young people, and workers to make this demand.

Our mass movement won major victories, forcing the release of the immigrant detainees in New York, Chicago, and Seattle! As thousands poured into airports, a federal judge issued an order blocking part of Trump’s order.

This is proof that mass movements of ordinary people can defeat Trump and the billionaire class!

Now is the time to keep up mass pressure, to stand with our immigrant and Muslim sisters and brothers, and demand:

  • No Ban! No Wall!
  • Not one more Deportation!
  • Release All Immigrant Detainees!
  • Tax the Rich to Cover All Budget Cuts by Trump
  • Make Seattle a Truly Sanctuary City

Please join me!
