What: Public accountability hearing with Seattle City Light CEO Jorge Carrasco
When: Wednesday, July 23rd at 9:30am during the Energy Committee
Where: Seattle City Hall Council Chambers, 600 Fourth Ave, Seattle WA 98104
This Wednesday’s Energy Committee meeting will be dedicated to a public accountability hearing with Seattle City Light CEO Jorge Carrasco, in light of recently emerged issues of concern.
Discussion will include:
- Executive salaries at City Light
- The hiring of the PR firm Brand.com to spruce up the image of City Light and Jorge Carrasco
- Last year’s copper theft from City Light facilities
- Employee morale at City Light and relations with management
It is the duty of elected officials to ensure that City departments are functioning in ways that best serve the people of Seattle. The goals of this hearing are to ensure that problematic situations are not repeated, and to give the public a chance to ask questions and provide input.
If you are unable to make it to the meeting this Wednesday I encourage you to email your input and questions to my office (kshama.sawant@seattle.gov). The meeting will be live streamed at www.seattlechannel.org and the video will be archived there shortly after.
I will do my best to ensure that questions asked during public comment on Wednesday, and those emailed in advance, are brought up in the discussion. Please forward this email on to supporters and allies.
